Location: Blackburn
Pay: £92.95–£100 per day (depending on experience)

Contract: Full-time, temporary until end of academic year (with potential to become permanent)

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a specialist alternative provision in Blackburn to recruit a Behaviour Support Worker to start immediately.
This provision supports pupils across Key Stages 2, 3 and 4 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, many of whom have experienced disruption to their education. The setting offers a nurturing, structured environment, with small class sizes and a strong focus on building positive relationships and re-engaging students in learning.
The Role
As a Behaviour Support Worker, you will:
- Support pupils displaying challenging behaviour on a 1:1 and small group basis
- Help students regulate emotions and access learning
- Use de-escalation strategies to manage behaviour effectively
- Work closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams
- Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils
- Promote a safe and inclusive learning environment
The Ideal Candidate
- Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs, behaviour challenges, or in alternative provisions (desirable)
- Resilient, patient, and calm under pressure
- Strong interpersonal and behaviour management skills
- Passionate about supporting vulnerable learners
- Available full-time and able to start ASAP

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
