SEN Teaching Assistant – Primary School in Heywood
Start Date: September 2025 | Full-Time Position

Are you a compassionate and patient individual with a passion for supporting children with additional needs? A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Heywood, in partnership with Teaching Personnel, is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team full-time from September 2025.

About the Role:

You will work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to support pupils with a range of special educational needs (including ASD, ADHD, and speech & language difficulties). Your role will be vital in helping pupils engage in learning and achieve their full potential in a nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN
  • Assist with the implementation of EHCPs and personalised learning plans
  • Help maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment
  • Support pupils in developing social, emotional, and academic skills
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals
  • Adapt learning materials and resources to meet individual needs

What We’re Looking For:

  • Previous experience working with children with SEN (school or care setting)
  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to support
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Relevant qualifications or training (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3, Team Teach, Autism Awareness) – desirable but not essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
