Job description

Full-Time SEN Support Assistant required at a Secondary School in Finchley

Do you want to make a difference by supporting SEN students with their academic needs prior to their GCSE examinations?

Teaching Personnel are working with a Secondary School based in Finchley who are looking for a part-time SEN Support Assistant to join their team immediately. The school is based in East Fincheley and is surrounded by various public transport links, including bus routes and the underground.

The successful candidate should be able to start immediately. The role itself will involve supporting teachers in all departments of the school and it is essential that candidates are flexible, approachable and outgoing in order to connect with students from a variety of different backgrounds.

Role highlights:

-          Earning potential up to £95 per day (depending on experience)

-          Secure car park and good transport links

-          Working hours 8:30am – 3:30pm

-          Gain experience working in a large, diverse and busy school setting

-          Making a difference supporting SEN students in a new school environment

Applicants should have confidence in their ability to work 1:1 and with smaller groups of SEN students. It is essential that candidates are confident and organised so that they can offer high levels of academic support, and give detailed feedback on progress to line managers and senior members of staff. Typically, the successful Support Assistant will be supporting students with core subjects, including English, Maths and Science.

Essential candidate requirements:

-          The ability to be flexible and work closely with all school departments to identify and help those students that need additional support.

-          It is essential that applicants are able to build relationships and connect with a variety of students from different backgrounds.

-          Candidates must be organised and have experience supporting students in 1:1 and small group settings.

All applicants will require appropriate qualifications/experience and the Right to Work in the UK in order to be considered for this role. In addition, applicants must have an enhanced DBS (or be willing to pay for an updated one) and provide an Overseas Police Clearance (if applicable) and 2 professional references.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
