SEN Teaching Assistant – September start, Full-Time or Part-Time

Teaching Personnel are looking for a patient and calm individual, who can support a child with special educational needs. The school is a Special Educational Needs School, based around the town of Exmouth. This position is a permanent position to start in September 2023.

The school are looking for someone to join their Student Support Team, whose vision is to be committed to providing the care and support students need to reach their full potential. The child you would be supporting has complex needs that effects their ability to engage in academic classroom activities, as well as social and emotional tasks.

As a Teaching Assistant you would be required to:

-      Assist in engagement with classroom-based activities, through motivation, reassurance and individual attention.

-      Support with their understanding of social

-      Work closely with the class teacher to create and develop lessons, resources and daily schedule.

-      Establish supportive relationship with student.

The perfect candidate would be an excellent problem solver, who can remain calm under pressure. They would be naturally empathetic and able to learn behaviours associated with different additional needs.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
