Are you calm, consistent, and compassionate? Do you want to make a real, lasting difference in a child’s life?

We are looking for a committed and resilient Individual Needs Assistant to work 1:1 with a bright, higher-level autistic child who experiences behavioural challenges. This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in helping one child access learning in a way that works for them—by providing structure, trust, and stability.

About the Role:

  • Work one-to-one with a pupil in Key Stage 1 with a diagnosis of autism and behavioural needs.

  • Support them both academically and emotionally, helping them navigate school life.

  • Provide a consistent and predictable presence that supports their routine and builds trust.

  • Liaise closely with the class teacher and SENDCo to implement personalised strategies.

  • Use proactive approaches to manage behaviour and reduce anxiety triggers.

About Our School:

  • A friendly and nurturing one-form entry primary in the heart of Crawley.

  • A welcoming team where everyone is valued and supported.

  • Set in a beautiful location with strong community ties and a calm, inclusive ethos.

The Ideal Candidate Will Be:

  • Exceptionally consistent, calm, and fair in your approach.

  • Experienced or confident working with autistic children and/or those with behavioural needs.

  • Patient, positive, and skilled at setting clear expectations.

  • A team player who can follow structured plans but also respond with empathy and flexibility.

What We Offer:

  • The chance to transform a child’s school experience.

  • Strong support from senior leaders and SEND specialists.

  • Training opportunities tailored to your role and pupil's needs.

  • A meaningful role in a caring, collaborative environment.
