Job description

We are currently hiring Support workers and Teaching assistants to work in a post-19 provision for SEND young adults.

Your role would be to provide support in the learning and development of the students and to aid the teachers in providing an enriching experience.

The Learning centre is focused on employability and independence, allowing young people to develop the personal skills required to launch into adulthood. The centre caters for learners who have Moderate Learning Difficulties, Severe Learning Difficulties, Complex needs, Autism, Hearing Impairments, Visual Impairments, Physical Disabilities and Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs.

The ideal Teaching assistant for this role MUST have:

-          Experience working vulnerable adults.

-          Full availability during school hours: Monday- Friday 8.00- 16.00

Not required but preferred:

-          Experience working with children or young adults with additional needs.

-          Hard working and proactive.

This role is subject to standard vetting checks including:

-          References for employment within the last two years.

-          Safeguarding training.

-          DBS on the Update Service.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
