Position Overview: As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in providing tailored support to students with SEN, enabling them to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing one-to-one and small group support to students with SEN, assisting them with classwork, assignments, and learning activities across various subjects.
- Collaborating closely with class teachers and SENCOs to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and adapt teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Supporting students in developing essential skills, including literacy, numeracy, communication, and social interaction, through targeted interventions and activities.
- Creating a nurturing and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued, respected, and empowered to reach their full potential.
- Monitoring student progress and behavior, providing regular feedback to teachers and parents/carers to support ongoing development and achievement.
- Collaborating with external specialists and agencies, as required, to ensure students receive appropriate support and interventions.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with students with SEN, either in a school setting or a similar environment, is highly desirable.
- A compassionate and patient approach to supporting students with diverse needs and abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents/carers.
- Flexibility, adaptability, and resilience in responding to the individual needs and challenges of students with SEN.
- A commitment to promoting inclusion, equality, and diversity within the school community.
