We are currently seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a well-regarded secondary school in Bramhall. The school has been rated 'Good' by Ofsted and is committed to providing inclusive education for all students.

Role Overview:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing tailored support to students with special educational needs, ensuring they receive the assistance they need to succeed in their academic and personal development. Your responsibilities will include:

1. Individual Support: Working closely with SEN students on a one-to-one or small group basis, providing academic assistance, emotional support, and encouragement to help them overcome barriers to learning.

2. Implementing Support Plans: Collaborating with SENCOs and teaching staff to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and support strategies tailored to the specific needs of each student, ensuring their progress is monitored and evaluated effectively.

3. Assisting in the Classroom: Supporting teachers in delivering lessons and adapting learning materials to meet the diverse learning styles and abilities of SEN students, fostering an inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued and supported.

4. Behaviour Management: Implementing positive behavior management techniques and strategies to support SEN students in managing their emotions and behaviors effectively, promoting a positive and supportive learning environment for all.

5. Building Relationships: Developing strong rapport with SEN students, parents, and colleagues, maintaining open and effective communication to ensure the holistic support needs of students are met both in and out of the classroom.

Requirements:

• Previous experience working with SEN students, preferably in a school or educational setting.
• Knowledge and understanding of various special educational needs, including but not limited to autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and speech and language disorders.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Patience, empathy, and resilience in supporting students with diverse needs and challenges.
• Flexibility and adaptability to respond to the changing demands of the role and the needs of SEN students.
