SEN Teaching Assistants Required – Full-Time & Part-Time Opportunities Across Dorset

Are you an experienced Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant looking for your next opportunity? We are currently recruiting dedicated and adaptable individuals to support a range of schools and specialist provisions across the Dorset region. Opportunities are available on both a full-time and part-time basis, offering flexibility to suit your availability and career goals.

About the Role:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be supporting pupils with a variety of additional needs, helping them to access learning and develop both academically and socially. Roles may involve working on a one-to-one basis or supporting small groups within the classroom.

You may be working with students with needs including, but not limited to:

  • Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
  • Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
  • Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
  • Moderate to severe learning difficulties

Responsibilities can include:

  • Supporting the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities
  • Implementing individual education plans (IEPs)
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement
  • Assisting with personal care where required
  • Promoting a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment

Candidate Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN (in education or similar settings)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A patient, resilient and proactive approach
  • Ability to adapt to different school environments and student needs
  • A genuine passion for supporting children’s development and wellbeing

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
