Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support – Year 2)
Location: Dorset, Bournemouth
Contract Type: Full-Time
Start Date: After Easter 2026

About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Year 2 pupil starting after the Easter break. This is a full-time position, ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting children with special educational needs and helping them thrive both academically and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide consistent 1:1 support tailored to the pupil’s individual needs
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement personalised learning strategies
  • Support the child’s social, emotional, and behavioural development
  • Adapt learning materials and activities to ensure accessibility and engagement
  • Monitor progress and provide feedback to staff and parents where appropriate
  • Promote a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience working with children with special educational needs (SEN), preferably in a primary school setting
  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • The ability to build positive relationships with children and staff
  • A proactive and flexible attitude

Desirable (but not essential):

  • Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or SEN support
  • Experience supporting children with ASD, ADHD, or speech and language needs

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
