Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Bournemouth and surrounding areas
Hours: 8:30am – 3:15pm, Monday to Friday (Term-time only)
Start Date: September 2026

About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to start a new position in September, supporting children with special educational needs across a range of school settings in Bournemouth. This role is ideal for someone who is patient, adaptable, and passionate about helping every child reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with special educational needs
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities
  • Support children’s social, emotional, and behavioural development
  • Help create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals
  • Monitor and record student progress where required
  • Follow safeguarding, health & safety, and school policies at all times

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN (desirable)
  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to adapt to different school environments
  • A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
