Job description

Are you passionate about supporting children to thrive in their education? Teaching Personnel is recruiting caring, proactive, and committed Learning Support Assistants to work within mainstream primary and secondary schools across Bournemouth and the surrounding areas.

This role is ideal for individuals with experience supporting children and young people, whether in education, youth work, coaching, care, mentoring, or those looking to build a rewarding career within schools.

Role: Learning Support Assistant
Pay Rate: £95–£105 per day
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time, Term Time Only
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will:

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils across a range of year groups
  • Support pupils with their academic progress, engagement, and confidence in the classroom
  • Assist teachers in delivering lessons and adapting learning activities where required
  • Encourage positive behaviour and help maintain a productive learning environment
  • Support pupils with additional learning needs, including those with SEND, where appropriate
  • Promote pupils’ social, emotional, and personal development
  • Help pupils develop independence, resilience, and positive learning habits
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and wider school staff to ensure pupils receive the support they need

We're Looking For:

  • Experience working with children or young people (desirable but not essential)
  • Transferable experience from education, childcare, youth work, coaching, mentoring, care, or family support
  • A positive, patient, and enthusiastic approach
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • A genuine passion for helping children succeed and reach their potential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
