SEN Teaching Assistant – Full Time

Location: BH9
Start Date: 13th April 2026
Contract Type: Full Time

Teaching Personnel are currently working in partnership with a welcoming and well-resourced mainstream primary school in the BH9 area who are seeking to appoint an experienced and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis from 13th April 2026.

This role will involve supporting pupils with additional needs both on a 1:1 basis and within small group interventions, helping to promote engagement, inclusion and positive learning outcomes across the classroom environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the class teacher and SENCO to deliver targeted support strategies and maintain a structured and nurturing setting for pupils.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide consistent 1:1 support for pupils with identified SEN

  • Deliver and support small group interventions to reinforce learning

  • Assist with the implementation of EHCP targets and personalised support plans

  • Encourage positive behaviour, social development and independence

  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff and wider school professionals

Candidate Requirements:

  • Previous experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs

  • Confident working both independently and as part of a team

  • Strong communication, behaviour management and organisational skills

  • A proactive, patient and professional approach to supporting pupils

  • Relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent experience (desirable)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
