Job description

Part-Time SEN Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support – Year 6)
Location: Boscombe, BH1
Start Date: ASAP – for the remainder of the academic year
Days: 3 days per week

We are currently recruiting on behalf of one of our partner schools in Boscombe (BH1) for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant. This is a part-time role working 3 days per week, providing 1:1 support to a Year 6 pupil for the rest of the academic year.

This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in a child’s final year of primary school, supporting both their academic progress and emotional wellbeing as they prepare for transition.

The Role:

  • Provide consistent 1:1 support for a Year 6 pupil with Special Educational Needs

  • Adapt learning activities to meet the pupil’s individual needs

  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver targeted support

  • Encourage engagement, independence, and confidence in learning

  • Support social and emotional development throughout the school day

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Have experience supporting children with SEN (desirable)

  • Be patient, nurturing, and understanding

  • Be able to build positive, trusting relationships

  • Have strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Be reliable and committed to the role for the full academic year

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
