SEN Teaching Assistant
Job description

We are recruiting Teaching Assistants for two specialist schools in the local area:
-
An SEN school supporting pupils with complex learning needs, autism and communication difficulties.
-
An SEMH school supporting pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs, where behaviour support and strong relationships are key.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will:
-
Support students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
-
Assist with differentiated learning activities
-
Help manage behaviour positively and consistently
-
Promote emotional wellbeing, engagement and independence
-
Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and pastoral teams
These are hands-on, rewarding roles where patience, resilience and empathy are essential.

Psychology graduates
-
Armed forces or emergency services
-
Anyone with strong transferable skills and a genuine passion for supporting young people
Previous SEN or SEMH experience is beneficial but not essential — the right attitude and commitment matter most.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
