Job description

SEN Teaching Assistant – Full Time

Location: Bolton, Greater Manchester
Contract: Full time, Monday to Friday, term time only

We are currently recruiting for a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in the Bolton area. This is a long-term opportunity within a well-established setting that supports pupils with a range of additional needs including SEMH, Autism and moderate learning difficulties.

The school is looking for someone who can provide consistency and structure, and who is confident building strong relationships with pupils who may display challenging behaviour or require additional emotional support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils with additional needs
  • Supporting behaviour management strategies and emotional regulation
  • Assisting with the delivery of lessons and adapting learning where required
  • Encouraging engagement and participation from pupils who may struggle in a classroom environment
  • Working closely with teaching staff, SENCO and pastoral teams

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Previous experience working with SEN, SEMH or behavioural needs
  • A calm, patient and resilient approach
  • The ability to build rapport and maintain professional boundaries
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Availability to work full time

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
