SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Darwen, Lancashire
Start Date: September 2025
Pay Rate: £13.75 - £14.50 per hour

Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? Do you want to make a real difference in a child’s educational journey?

We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive school in Darwen. This is a fantastic opportunity to start a rewarding role in education this September.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with additional needs
  • Work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to implement tailored learning strategies
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Support students with emotional regulation and behaviour management
  • Assist with personal care where required (depending on student needs)

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with SEN (e.g. ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, SEMH) is highly desirable
  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient attitude
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
