SEN Teaching Assistant–Bolton

  • Primary school looking for a SEN support teaching assistant
  • SEN or SEMH experience desirable
  • Salary between GBP285 - GBP300 a week
  • Little Lever, Bolton (BL3)

A primary school located in Little Lever is looking for a teaching assistant to support pupils across reception and Key Stage 1. Due to an increase in the number of children in the school with special educational needs with health care plans, the Head teacher is looking for a teaching assistant who can work with a number of pupils in small groups and on a 1:1 basis to raise attainment.

This is a general SEN teaching assistant role and the successful applicant will work in a number of class rooms where needed so the successful candidate will need to be flexible in their approach to learning. This role will start on the 4th November 2019 and carry on until the end of the academic year.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience using different phonics schemes
  • Previous SEN or SEMH experience
  • Experience using PECS

This primary school has been graded ‘Good’ by its previous Ofsted inspection and has been expanded at the start of the year. Because of this, the school are looking to appoint the right candidate permanently and there will be opportunities to move onto a school contract. The primary school has a very close connection to the local community and has a strong focus on creating a welcoming and inclusive learning environment where all children can reach their full potential..
