SEN teaching Assistant - Autism specialist

A Trafford based secondary school is looking to employ an SEN teaching Assistant to work with a student with Autism who is currently undertaking their GCSE's. The vacancy is to start in February and will continue until the end of the academic year. As a SEN teaching assistant you will be working on a full time basis as you will ensure the ASC student is provided efficient support in his Key Stage 4 Studies.

**Pay ranging from £54-70 per day, paid on a weekly basis

The secondary school is situated in Trafford and has prioritised their students to perform at a high level. The secondary school wants to continue to improve on their previous attainment 8 score which was above average. The supportive SEN department at the school are there to provide you a platform to ensure you are helping the student with autism to engage in their GCSE studies. The school can also provide you with CPD opportunities for you to develop your skills in teaching and SEN knowledge. There are buses and train stops that are close the school. If you are driving, then the commute can be easily accessible as the school is just off the M60 Motorway and has a private on-site carpark.

Your timetable will consist of the supporting the autistic student on a one to one basis. You will be responsible in providing an engaging learning environment for the student and ensure he gets the best out of his academic studies. As a student with autism, confidence and fitting in with society can be an issue within a secondary school. Your role will be to improve the student's confidence and social inclusion to motivate his aspirations in the future. Your role will develop at the final term of your employment as you will provide support to the autistic student with their exam preparation.

As a SEN Teaching Assistant working with an autistic student, you will need to be emphatic and caring as the student will be in need of social support. This role would be ideal If you have worked in an educational setting or have experience working with children who need supporting in areas of moderate learning difficulties, social emotional mental health, behaviour, autism and ADHD. Applications are welcome from graduates or candidates with work experience in health and social care, youth work or sports coaching.
