"We are looking for an experienced special educational need Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to join our team on 1st October 2018. The successful SEN TA should have relevant experience of supporting students who have various special educational needs. The suitable SEN TA will be working with a selection of students, including one who has Autism and generally support within the classroom. The successful SEN TA will also be supporting year 11s with intervention in Maths and Science. You will be a part of our large team of support staff initially being employed via a supply basis but with the possibility of progressing on to a school based contract"

Our single gendered client secondary school is looking for a SEN Teaching Assistant to join them in at the beginning of October 2018. This is a full time Teaching Assistant position for the remainder of the first autumn term in the first instance. The successful SEN TA will be working with all year groups, supporting an Autistic student in the main. Confidence and motivation is imperative within this role, with the SEN TA benefitting from being part of a highly supportive team of Teaching Assistants.

The school is an outstanding single gendered secondary school based in the city centre of Manchester. Specifically situated just outside the city centre, it is easily accessible via public transport but also a large secure on site car park for those travelling by car. The school is housed in a traditional and opulent building.

Highlights of this SEN TA position:

  • Full time Teaching Assistant position; initially on a supply basis with the opportunity for a school based contract
  • Pay ranging between £54 - £67.50 per day depending on experience
  • Applications are encouraged from individuals with any relevant SEN experience: especially Autism
  • Highly supportive, outstanding secondary school based just outside the city centre of Manchester

The school's SENCO oversees the support staff within this large secondary school and is keen to have the successful SEN TA start as soon as possible at the beginning of October. The school are therefore looking for an effective TA who has the ability to engage with students aged between 11 and 16 but is flexible and adaptable in their approach. The school is highly supportive of all staff and will offer the successful TA various training opportunities.

The Head of Maths specifically runs after school sessions to provide in house learning for all support staff so that intervention can be provided and allowing for all staff to feel more comfortable supporting all students up to year 11.
