SEN Teacher (West Yorkshire)

Locations: Leeds | Bradford | Huddersfield | Halifax | Wakefield
Pay: £160 – £210 per day (depending on experience)
Contract: Full-Time | Long-Term | Temp-to-Perm

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate SEN Teacher to join specialist and inclusive schools across West Yorkshire, supporting children and young people with a range of additional needs, including SEMH, ASC, MLD, and PMLD.

The Role:

  • Plan and deliver differentiated lessons to meet the individual learning needs of SEN pupils.

  • Support pupils’ emotional, social, and behavioural development.

  • Collaborate closely with TAs, SENCOs, therapists, and external specialists to ensure a holistic approach to learning.

  • Implement adaptive teaching strategies and communication techniques (e.g., PECS, Makaton).

  • Contribute to EHCP reviews, progress tracking, and multi-disciplinary meetings.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS)

  • Experience in SEN education, SEMH, or alternative provision

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

  • Full-time availability (term-time)

Desirable:

  • Experience with Team Teach, Moving & Handling, or other SEN-specific interventions

  • Driving licence and access to transport

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
