Job Role: Fully Qualified Teacher

Contract: Full-time (Monday-Friday)

Location: Huddersfield (HD5)

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Special Educational Needs (SEN) teacher to join our team at a SEN school in Huddersfield. As a qualified teacher, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children with specialised needs, including Autism, physical disabilities, and other complex learning needs. This is a full-time role, Monday-Friday, starting immediately.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead classes in basic curriculum topics (maths, English, etc.) as well as more specific communication and life skills.
  • Design and deliver fun and activity-based lessons that support individual needs, build confidence, and provide practical skills.
  • Teach vocational courses that equip students with skills for life and employment.
  • Develop and implement Individualised Education Plans (IEPs) for each student.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide a holistic and therapeutic approach to teaching.
  • Ensure all lessons are inclusive and accessible for students with profound, multiple, and severe learning, health, and care needs.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and work closely with parents and caregivers.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance personal and professional growth.

Required:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS).
  • Experience working with vulnerable children is beneficial, but not required.
  • Ability to work with students with a range of needs and abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Suitable references and a valid DBS certificate.

Salary: Pay to scale
