SEN Teacher – Halifax 

Location: Halifax
Pay: £160 – £210 per day
Contract: Full-Time | Long-Term | Temp-to-Perm

We are seeking an inspiring and adaptable SEN Teacher to join a specialist provision in Halifax (HX area) supporting pupils with a wide range of additional needs, including ASD, SEMH, and PMLD.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about inclusive education and thrives on helping every learner reach their full potential.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver differentiated, creative lessons tailored to individual learning plans.

  • Lead a small class with the support of experienced teaching assistants.

  • Create a positive, structured environment that promotes engagement, independence, and confidence.

  • Use communication strategies such as PECS, Makaton, or sensory approaches to support pupils.

  • Liaise with therapists, parents, and SENCOs to ensure consistent, high-quality provision.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS).

  • Experience teaching students with SEN/SEMH/PMLD needs.

  • Knowledge of adaptive and inclusive teaching approaches.

  • Moving & Handling and Personal Care experience desirable.

  • DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
