SEN Teacher – Maternity Cover (Full Academic Year)

Location: Bury, Greater Manchester 
Contract: Full time, September 2026 start (Maternity Cover)

A specialist primary SEN school in Bury is looking to secure a committed and experienced SEN Teacher for a full academic year maternity cover starting September.

This role would suit a teacher looking for stability across the academic year within a well-structured and supportive SEN environment. The school caters for pupils with Autism, communication needs and associated learning difficulties, with a strong emphasis on routine, consistency and relationship-building.

What you’ll be doing

You will take full responsibility for a class, supported by experienced Teaching Assistants, and deliver a curriculum that is tailored to individual needs.

  • Planning and delivering highly adapted lessons
  • Creating a predictable and structured classroom environment
  • Supporting communication, engagement and independence
  • Working closely with support staff and wider SEN team
  • Tracking progress in a way that reflects individual development

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience in SEN or a strong interest in moving into SEN
  • A calm, structured and consistent approach
  • Someone reliable for a full-time, full academic year commitment

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
