Secondary SEN Teacher (Qualified)

About the Role
Teaching Personnel is looking to recruit a passionate and committed Secondary SEN Teacher to join a welcoming and inclusive school in the Manchester area. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified teacher who is either experienced in Special Educational Needs (SEN) or keen to develop further within this highly rewarding field.
In this role, you will support secondary-aged pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, and complex learning difficulties, helping them to achieve their full potential both academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging, differentiated lessons aligned with the secondary curriculum and individual EHCP targets
- Adapt teaching strategies to meet a wide range of SEN needs across Key Stages 3 and 4 (and potentially KS5)
- Create a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment for young people
- Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, SENCOs, therapists, and external professionals
- Monitor, track, and assess pupil progress to ensure positive outcomes
- Promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and independence
- Support pupils in preparing for further education, employment, or training pathways
Requirements
Essential:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience teaching within a secondary school and/or SEN setting
- Strong understanding of SEND needs and inclusive teaching practices at secondary level
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach
Desirable:
- Team Teach training (or willingness to undertake)
- Experience supporting pupils with EHCPs and personalised learning programmes
- Subject specialism relevant to the secondary curriculum

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
