About the School

This specialist provision supports pupils aged 4-19 with a range of additional needs, including:

• Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
• Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
• Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs (SEMH)
• Moderate Learning Difficulties

The Role

As an SEN Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality teaching and learning to students with diverse and complex needs.

You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons, adapting the curriculum to meet individual learning requirements, and creating an environment where pupils feel safe, supported and motivated to succeed.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high-quality, differentiated lessons to meet individual pupil needs
• Create an engaging and inclusive learning environment that promotes progress and achievement
• Develop and implement personalised learning strategies and interventions
• Assess, monitor and report on pupil progress effectively
• Build positive and purposeful relationships with pupils, families and colleagues
• Work collaboratively with therapists, SENCOs and multidisciplinary professionals
• Support pupils' social, emotional and communication development
• Promote positive behaviour through consistent and restorative approaches
• Contribute to EHCP reviews, target setting and wider school development

We're Looking For

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential
• Experience teaching pupils within primary, secondary or specialist education settings
• Strong classroom management and behaviour management skills
• A commitment to inclusive education and high expectations for all learners
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• The ability to adapt teaching practices to meet a range of additional needs
• A resilient, reflective and proactive approach

Highly Desirable

• Experience teaching within specialist SEN settings
• Knowledge of Autism, SLCN, SEMH or complex learning needs
• Experience working with EHCPs and personalised learning plans
• Understanding of alternative communication methods, including PECS or AAC
• Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
