We are currently seeking an experienced and qualified Primary Teacher to join a specialist SEN school supporting pupils within Key Stage 1. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a well-supported, nurturing environment.
The Role
You will be leading a mixed-ability KS1 class, supporting pupils with a range of complex needs. The class group reflects the school’s broad spectrum of SEN provision.
Needs within the Class
- Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- Physical Disabilities (PD)
- Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)
- Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD)
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual EHCPs
- Create a safe, structured and inclusive classroom environment
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and wider multidisciplinary teams
- Monitor and assess pupil progress effectively
- Support communication, behaviour and sensory needs
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
- Proven experience working within SEN settings – essential
- Experience teaching KS1 or primary-aged pupils
- Strong understanding of ASD and complex learning needs
- Confident managing challenging behaviours positively
- A patient, resilient and proactive approach
