SEMH TEACHER REQUIRED – SEPTEMBER START, INTERVIEWING NOW – ELY, CAMBRIDGESHIRE
We are looking for a Fully Qualified Teacher, with SEMH experience to work at a unique, alternative education provision on the outskirts of Ely, Cambridgeshire. The role is accessible from Littleport, Witchford, Downham Market and all surrounding areas.
View this as not just a job, but a new challenge and huge opportunity to make a REAL difference as a Teacher to vulnerable children. The pupils attending this alternate schooling provision have dealt with abuse, trauma and have poor mental health as a result of this. You can build great relationships with your students and really focus on getting them engaged in their own learning and development in school, but also a brighter future once they leave. However, expect to be managing very challenging behaviour on a daily basis, including both physical and verbal aggression from pupils.
Each student has individual additional needs (ADHD, SEMH, and Autism) and requires extra support, which is why you will always have a minimum of two Teaching Assistant’s with you in the class.
Training will be available: Behaviour Management, Restraint, Safeguarding and Autism Awareness are just a few.
Competitive rates of pay are on offer for this challenging, but rewarding role and you should be available to work for a minimum of one school term – to start in September 2020.
