We are looking for an enthusiastic, innovative SEN teacher to join one of our local schools, located in Hull and commutable by public and private transport.
The school has a vibrant, dynamic community of Staff and Students who work collaboratively towards exceptional educational outcomes. The school is a special needs school which provides education for pupils between the ages of 4-16 with mild to severe learning difficulties (MLD & SLD), profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD) along with associate difficulties such as speech and language difficulties and physical impairments. The school also has an Autism department on site (ASC).
This is a full time position, working 5 days a week. To apply, you must have Qualified Teacher Status in the UK, or an equivalent overseas qualification with UK teaching experience.
The post would be suitable for newly qualified teachers (NQTs) and teachers on the main pay range. To be successful in this role it is desirable if you:
• Have experience working within a school setting
• Have experience teaching children and/or adults with learning difficulties including ADHD, SEMH and ASC.
• Have a good understanding of Special Educational Needs, or a willingness to learn
• Be able to demonstrate a good understanding of the role of a Teacher in a special needs school • Have the ability to engage pupils in their learning and support them in their social, emotional and personal wellbeing
• Have the ability to differentiate work to cater for all students
