Classroom Teacher – Yeovil – Full-Time

Inspire Learning in a Specialist Setting

A highly supportive specialist provision in Yeovil is looking for a dedicated Classroom Teacher to join their team from September 2026.

This full-time position involves working with children and young people aged 4 to 18 who have a range of additional needs including PMLD, SLD, communication difficulties and complex learning needs.

Working hours are 8.40am to 4.30pm, with occasional varied finishing times linked to school activities and educational visits.

This setting is known for its inclusive ethos, therapeutic approach and strong focus on helping pupils develop confidence, independence and life skills.

Staff are encouraged to deliver imaginative lessons that engage learners through sensory experiences, practical activities and personalised learning pathways.

 

About the Role

• Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons across the curriculum

• Adapt teaching strategies to meet a wide variety of SEND requirements

• Support pupils’ academic, emotional and social development

• Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists and families

• Contribute to EHCP targets, progress reviews and assessment records

• Promote a safe, structured and encouraging classroom environment

• Take part in educational visits, enrichment activities and wider school life

 

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status or ECT status welcomed

• Minimum of 6 months childcare experience, particularly supporting children with SEN

• Experience within SEND, PMLD or SLD settings is highly desirable

• Strong behaviour management and communication skills

• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team

• Commitment to inclusive education and pupil wellbeing
