Teaching Personnel is recruiting an experienced Key Stage 2 Class Teacher for a full-time position within a specialist educational setting in Yeovil, commencing September 2026.
This is an outstanding opportunity for a skilled teacher who is committed to delivering high-quality education to pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
You'll be joining a supportive, child-centred environment where every lesson is carefully adapted to meet individual needs, helping children develop academically, socially and emotionally.
We are looking for a teacher with proven classroom experience who can hit the ground running. You'll be confident planning and delivering engaging lessons, working collaboratively with support staff and building positive relationships with pupils who require patience, consistency and encouragement to succeed.
About the Role
As the successful Class Teacher, you will take responsibility for a Key Stage 2 class, creating an inclusive and engaging learning environment where pupils feel safe, valued and motivated to achieve.
- Planning and delivering creative, differentiated lessons across the Key Stage 2 curriculum.
- Teaching pupils with a range of additional needs, including autism, communication needs, moderate learning difficulties, SEMH and associated SEND.
- Creating personalised learning opportunities that enable every child to make progress.
- Monitoring pupil achievement and adapting teaching to meet individual needs.
- Working closely with teaching assistants to deliver high-quality classroom support.
- Contributing to EHCP targets, pupil reviews and progress meetings where appropriate.
- Establishing clear routines and positive behaviour expectations.
- Building strong partnerships with parents, carers and external professionals.
- Promoting pupils' confidence, independence and emotional wellbeing alongside academic development.
About You
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Have recent Key Stage 2 teaching experience.
- Have experience working with children with SEND within either mainstream or specialist settings.
- Be an adaptable, reflective practitioner with excellent classroom management skills.
- Be passionate about inclusive education and personalised learning.
- Demonstrate strong communication and organisational skills.
- Be ready to make an immediate impact from September 2026.
Experience supporting pupils with EHCPs or working within specialist education would be highly desirable.
