SEN Teacher – Full-Time Permanent Role – Yeovil

An inspiring specialist school in Yeovil is looking to appoint a committed SEN Teacher to join their dedicated team from September 2026 in a full-time permanent position.
This welcoming setting supports children and young people aged 4 to 16 with moderate learning difficulties, autism and additional communication needs.
Staff work together to create an inclusive atmosphere where pupils feel respected, supported and motivated to achieve both academically and personally.

About the Role
You will deliver imaginative and accessible lessons tailored to a broad range of abilities and learning profiles.
Teachers are encouraged to use practical, interactive and engaging approaches to help pupils develop confidence, communication skills and independence.
You will become part of a collaborative team focused on helping young people overcome barriers while celebrating individuality and achievement.
Responsibilities Include
• Planning differentiated lessons suited to individual learning needs
• Encouraging participation through creative teaching approaches
• Monitoring attainment and recording progress effectively
• Creating calm, structured and autism-friendly learning spaces
• Supporting EHCP outcomes and personalised learning targets
• Working closely with therapists, parents and multidisciplinary teams
• Promoting confidence, resilience and positive relationships
• Contributing to the wider life of the school community
Candidate Requirements
• Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent teaching qualification
• Strong understanding of inclusive teaching strategies
• Passion for supporting pupils with additional needs
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Patient, adaptable and reflective approach
• Maths specialism welcomed but not essential
• SEND experience desirable although training can be provided

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
