Primary Teacher – Specialist SEMH Setting | Yeovil | Full-Time | September Start

Apply today with your up-to-date CV or call 01202 558848 and ask for Himaya for a discussion about the role before the shortlisting process begins.

Are you a passionate Primary Teacher looking for an opportunity where you can genuinely transform the lives of children who need consistency, encouragement and outstanding teaching?

Teaching Personnel is working with a specialist education provision in Yeovil seeking an experienced Primary Teacher to join their dedicated team on a full-time basis from September. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a nurturing environment where relationships are at the heart of everything they do, enabling pupils to build confidence, resilience and achieve their full potential.

Working with children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, you'll play a key role in creating a safe, engaging and structured classroom where every learner feels supported. This position would suit a teacher who is passionate about inclusive education and enjoys helping pupils overcome barriers to learning through patience, creativity and consistency.

The school is seeking an experienced teacher who can hit the ground running from September. You'll be responsible for planning and delivering differentiated lessons, monitoring progress, supporting EHCP outcomes and working collaboratively with Learning Support Assistants, families and external professionals to ensure every child receives the highest standard of education and care. You'll also contribute to the wider school community by promoting positive behaviour through a relational approach and acting as a tutor for a small group of pupils.

The successful candidate will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Have recent classroom experience, ideally within SEND, SEMH or an alternative provision.
  • Be confident building positive relationships with pupils who require additional support.
  • Demonstrate resilience, flexibility and a proactive approach to teaching.
  • Be committed to creating an inclusive learning environment where every child can succeed.

Please note that the school is expecting to begin shortlisting within the next two weeks, so early applications are strongly encouraged to avoid missing out on this opportunity.

Why choose Teaching Personnel?

  • Weekly PAYE pay with no umbrella company deductions.
  • A dedicated consultant providing ongoing support throughout your placement.
  • Access to exclusive education vacancies across Somerset and Dorset.
  • Free and discounted CPD, including SEND-specific training.
  • Opportunities to secure long-term and permanent positions.
  • A straightforward registration process with continued career support.

If you're ready for your next challenge and want to make a real difference in a specialist school, we'd love to hear from you.
