Job description

A well-established specialist school in the Yeovil area is seeking a dedicated SEN Teacher with QTS to join their supportive and experienced team. This is a rewarding opportunity to teach pupils aged 4 to 16 within a nurturing and inclusive learning environment. This highly respected specialist setting is committed to providing high-quality education and personalised support for pupils with moderate learning difficulties (MLD) and severe learning difficulties (SLD). The school focuses on creating a safe, structured and encouraging environment where pupils can develop academically, socially and emotionally. Staff work collaboratively to deliver tailored learning approaches that help every child build confidence, independence and essential life skills.

 

Role Overview

  • Planning and delivering adapted and engaging lessons

  • Supporting pupils’ communication, learning and personal development

  • Working closely with teaching assistants and specialist staff to meet individual needs

 

The Ideal Candidate

  • Qualified Teacher Status

  • Experience working with SEN pupils, particularly MLD or SLD

  • Patient, adaptable and committed to inclusive education

  • Strong classroom management and communication skills

  • A positive and proactive approach to supporting every learner

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
