Classroom Teacher – SEN (Full-Time)
Yeovil, Somerset | September 2026 Start, Earlier start can be negotiated

About the School
A highly regarded specialist provision in Yeovil supporting pupils aged 4–18 with complex additional needs. The school provides a structured, nurturing and aspirational environment where every learner is valued and supported to achieve meaningful progress.

Pupils have: Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), Complex physical and medical needs and Communication and behavioural challenges

With a dedicated multidisciplinary team, the school promotes independence, confidence and holistic development through a personalised and engaging curriculum.

 

The Role

  • Working hours 8.40am to 4.30pm

  • Teaching pupils aged 4–18

  • Leading a class team including Teaching Assistants

  • Planning and delivering differentiated, engaging lessons

  • Monitoring progress and contributing to EHCP reviews

  • Supporting pastoral care, personal development and wellbeing

ECTs are welcome to apply. Experience within SLD or PMLD settings is highly desirable.

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Strong knowledge of adaptive teaching and behaviour strategies

  • Resilient, compassionate and committed to inclusion

  • Confident working collaboratively with families and professionals

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
