Job description

Are you a passionate Class Teacher with QTS looking for a rewarding opportunity in specialist education? A highly supportive independent SEN school near Templecombe is seeking a dedicated teacher to join their team from September 2026.

This welcoming setting provides education for pupils aged 6 to 13 who have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) for Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, often alongside additional learning needs. The school is known for its nurturing approach, strong pastoral support and commitment to helping every child succeed.

This specialist provision offers a calm and structured environment where pupils can rebuild confidence and re-engage with learning.

The Role

  • Planning and delivering creative, differentiated lessons

  • Supporting pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs

  • Encouraging positive relationships and emotional development

  • Working closely with support staff and specialist colleagues

  • Promoting a safe, inclusive and motivating learning environment

 

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Experience or strong interest in SEN and SEMH education

  • Knowledge of the Primary National Curriculum

  • A patient, resilient and compassionate approach
