Our client secondary school in the Trafford LEA is looking for a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to join them at the start of the new academic year in September. The successful SEN TA will be working with the lower school (KS3) students supporting their learning and needs within mainstream classes as well as working in small groups and on a 1:1 basis.

As a SEN TA at this supportive school, you will be working under the SENCo (Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator) alongside a team of other teaching assistants. There is fantastic progression opportunities with the role being a full time role with the opportunity to progress on to a school based permanent contract.

  • Pay expectation for the school day: £55 - £80 depending on experience and qualification

The successful SEN TA will be supporting students within the school's SEND base working with students aged 11 - 14 years old. As a designated SEN TA, the successful individual will be supporting students with various needs such as; Dyslexia, Autism, Moderate Learning Difficulties and those with SEMH (Social, Emotional, Mental Health problems).

This role would suit:

  • Teaching Assistant with prior experience of supporting students with SEN
  • Any individual who has experience of supporting a young person with special needs
    • Personal level at home with family/friends
    • Work based experience in a youth setting such as a school, youth club or Special School
  • Youth worker who has supporting various needs in the past
  • Graduate of a related specialism with the relevant theoretical background looking to progress into a career in the education sector
  • Future teacher looking for further experience within a secondary school with prior experience in this area

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
