Job description

Specialist Teaching Assistant – High Needs Support
Location: Lytham St Annes – Secondary School
Start Date: January 2025

Contract: Part-time (5 mornings per week)

We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Specialist Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team at a welcoming secondary school in Lytham St Annes. This role involves providing 1:1 support for a pupil with complex needs, ensuring they can access learning and thrive in a safe, nurturing environment.

Essential Experience & Training:

  • Proven experience supporting pupils with complex needs in an educational setting
  • PACE Approach Training
  • Safety Intervention Training in Schools
  • De-escalation Training

The successful candidate will be:

  • Compassionate, patient, and resilient in supporting students with high needs
  • Skilled at building trusting relationships with pupils, families, and staff
  • Confident in implementing tailored strategies to de-escalate challenging behaviours and promote positive outcomes
  • A proactive team player committed to making a real difference

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
