Special Educational Needs (SEN) Support Worker – Make a Lasting Impact in Northampton Schools!

Teaching Personnel is seeking dedicated and empathetic SEN Support Workers to join our team, providing essential one-to-one and group support within thriving primary and secondary Special Educational Needs (SEN) schools across Northampton and the surrounding areas (including NN1, NN3, NN4 & NN5 postcodes).

The Role: Championing Student Success

As an SEN Support Worker, you will collaborate closely with educators and therapeutic teams to tailor support for students with diverse needs. Your work will directly contribute to fostering an inclusive atmosphere where every child can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Your Impactful Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Facilitating Learning: Guide students through their daily learning activities, adapting strategies to meet individual needs and learning styles.
  • Empowering Well-being: Actively promote and support the social, emotional, and behavioral development of pupils, building resilience and confidence.
  • Creating Safe Spaces: Help maintain a stimulating, safe, and positive environment conducive to effective learning.
  • Strategic Collaboration: Work alongside classroom teachers to execute personalized learning plans and enhance overall classroom engagement.
  • Implementing Key Plans: Assist diligently with the practical delivery of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).

 What We Are Looking For:

  • Essential Experience: Prior experience supporting children or adults, ideally within an educational, care, or related setting.
  • Knowledge Base: Familiarity with the challenges and rewards of supporting Special Educational Needs, including experience with managing challenging behaviors.
  • Core Strengths: Exceptional communication skills, a highly collaborative approach to teamwork, and demonstrable resilience.
  • Mindset: A flexible, proactive, and positive approach, driven by a genuine passion for fostering growth, confidence, and independence in young people.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
