About the Job:

Our special school in Twickenham are looking to appoint SEN Intervention Teachers for the school’s primary department. They are seeking a SEN teacher with confidence planning and delivering individual learning programmes for children with education, health and care plans.

The teaching position is full-time, class based with up to 8 pupils diagnosed with special needs. The successful teacher will be dedicated to providing effective teaching and planning while managing a small team of up to 3 SEN support assistants.

About the Special School (Twickenham)

This Special School in Twickenham is in the London Borough of Richmond and is part of trust of 3 special schools in the area.

This school has both a primary, secondary and post-16 department for pupils with special educational needs. Pupils have severe and complex learning difficulties including those with an additional diagnosis of autism and/or physical/sensory disabilities

  • Good with outstanding pupil behaviour by Ofsted in Feb 2019
  • Children and young people aged 4 -19 with
  • Three campuses, co located with inclusive minded local mainstream schools
  • Small class sizes
  • On-site Speech and Language, Physiotherapy, Occupational, Music and Play Therapy team, soft playroom, sensory room and outdoor learning spaces

This special school are seeking a professional who is:

  • A QTS or PGCE qualified teacher
  • Experienced planning and teaching pupils with SEN and an education, health and care plan
  • Confident teaching and managing behaviour of pupils with autism and complex needs
  • Available full-time Monday to Friday (8:30am -4:00pm) from 12th October 2020
  • An excellent, innovative classroom teacher with a drive for self-improvement and development
  • Additional experience with Makaton, visual timetables, SCERTs, Attention Autism, intensive interaction, cued articulation, TACPAC, and TEACCH is highly beneficial
