SEMH Teaching Assistant
Job description
Location: Stockport, Greater Manchester
Start Date: After Easter until the end of the academic year, with potential for permanent placement based on performance.
Hours: Full-time
Salary: £450 to £550 per week.
Role Overview:
Are you passionate about supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs to thrive in an educational setting? Teaching Personnel are seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join an Ofsted Good secondary school in Stockport. As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing tailored support to students facing social, emotional, and mental health challenges. Your responsibilities will include:
- Working closely with students on a one-on-one basis to meet their individual needs.
- Providing assistance with academic studies and facilitating learning and development
- Creating a supportive and inclusive environment to promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being.
- Collaborating effectively with SENCO, teachers, and support staff to comprehensively meet students’ needs.
Requirements:
- Relevant qualifications and training for the role
- Experience working with students with SEMH needs is preferred.
- Motivated to make a positive difference in students’ learning and well-being.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
