Supporting Behaviour in Key Stage 1 - Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant for Oldham Primary School, M35.
Teaching Personnel are working closely with a larger than average primary school in the central Oldham area, M35. Due to additional funding for an SEN child with behavioural needs in Year 2, a full time Behaviour Support Assistant opportunity has become available. The school is looking to recruit a behaviour support assistant with extensive experience supporting pupils with barriers to learning, who display challenging behaviour. Whilst supporting children on a 1:1 or small group basis, you would be expected to show a calm, caring and nurturing approach as building positive relationships is key to improving behaviour within school.
The school is located in the Failsworth area of Oldham and enrols over 500 pupils each year from the surrounding areas of Oldham. Due to an increase in the number of exclusions this academic year, the special needs co-ordinator wants to interview and recruit a behaviour support assistant straight away on a full time and long term basis. If you are a graduate of Psychology or have experience of working with children with challenging behaviours through social work or care work, you would be welcomed to apply for the role.
To be considered for this learning support assistant role, you will need to have a teaching assistant qualification or a degree and significant experience working with children. This is a full time post starting straight away if possible and you will need to have suitable experience and references to be considered.
If you are interested in this learning support assistant post and have extensive experience working with challenging behaviour, please email your CV to Christopher.morgan@teachingpersonnel.com straight away or call 0161 242 1790.
