SEMH TA - South Manchester
Job description
This vacancy has now expired. Please see similar roles below...
Our secondary PRU is in need of a teaching assistant and mentor to help support the students with their behaviour and learning during their time at the school.
The students are currently excluded from mainstream school due to their needs and are at the PRU to try to re-engage with their education.
The students will study basic subjects such as Maths and English, as well as a range of vocational courses such as sports which better suit their learning styles.
The Teaching Assistant will help them to remain motivated and help them to enjoy their experience without becoming overwhelmed or distracted.
Due to some of the students challenging behaviour, a candidate with Team-Teach training would be essential, however Teaching Personnel can offer this course to registered candidates through the CPD academy.
Teaching Assistants will also be responsible for being a role model and mentor to the students, helping them to overcome their needs by being a source of support and sound advice for them to feel happier and more comfortable when they return to mainstream school.
Students attending PRU's are some of the most vulnerable and who need the most care and attention, therefore its essential to be a patient, caring and empathetic person to help build relationships.
Benefits of working through Teaching Personnel include:
7AM-5PM Support from consultants
Online control of diary and payslips
Weekly pay
DBS Guidance
Training through CPD Academy
