Sports Coach – SEMH Primary School (Temp to Perm)

Location: Chorley, Lancashire
Contract: Temporary to Permanent
Start Date: ASAP
Salary: £13.75+ per hour 

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Sports Coach to join a supportive SEN primary school. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire young learners through sport and physical activity while providing personal care and individual support where needed.

The Role:

  • Delivering engaging sports and physical education sessions tailored to SEMH primary pupils.

  • Supporting the development of physical, social, and emotional skills through structured activities.

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils with additional needs.

  • Assisting with personal care routines as part of the daily role.

  • Building positive relationships and being a consistent, encouraging role model.

  • Working closely with teachers, SEN staff, and therapists to create inclusive learning opportunities.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience working with children with SEMH or SEND needs (school, coaching, or youth work background).

  • Passionate about sport, wellbeing, and child development.

  • Patient, resilient, and able to manage challenging behaviour with a nurturing approach.

  • Willing to support with personal care as part of the role.

  • Relevant coaching qualifications (desirable but not essential).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
