Learning Support Assistant – SEN School (Agency Bank Basis)

We are currently seeking passionate and reliable Learning Support Assistants to join our agency team, providing flexible support across a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN) schools. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking for rewarding, varied work that makes a real difference in young people’s lives.

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other professionals to support students with additional learning needs, helping them to achieve their potential both academically and socially. You may support pupils on a one-to-one basis or within small groups, depending on their individual needs.

Duties include:

  • Supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, and social, emotional and mental health difficulties

  • Assisting in classroom activities and adapting learning materials where necessary

  • Encouraging positive behaviour and promoting inclusion

  • Providing personal care or physical support where required

  • Working collaboratively with teachers and school staff to ensure each child receives consistent and tailored support

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN

  • A patient, empathetic and proactive approach

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)

This role offers flexible, ongoing work on a bank basis, allowing you to choose shifts that fit around your schedule. Opportunities are available across various SEN schools in the local area.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
