Secondary Teaching Assistant – Full-Time – Poole - September 2025


 

About the Role
Are you looking to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people?

A specialist secondary provision in Poole is seeking a full-time Teaching Assistant to start in September 2025.

This rewarding role involves supporting students aged 11 to 16 with a variety of special educational needs, including those with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) difficulties such as anxiety, depression, and attachment or detachment disorders.

This is a nurturing and therapeutic setting that offers personalised learning opportunities for students who may have disengaged from mainstream education.

Staff work collaboratively to provide consistency, compassion and structure, helping each pupil build confidence and a sense of belonging. No two days are the same, but every day brings a chance to change a life.


 

Your Responsibilities
You will support students both inside and outside the classroom, helping them engage with their learning, manage their emotions and feel safe.

Patience, empathy and reliability are key qualities, as you will be an important part of the support structure these learners rely on.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
