Secondary Teachers Required
Job description
Teaching Personnel are working with a new SEN secondary school (NE24) catering for children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) as their primary area of need. At full capacity, this Academy will provide education to 80 pupils aged 11-16 working between lower key stage two and key stage four.
"A pioneering secondary special school, invites passionate educators to enhance our community. Our school, dedicated to the academic and social-emotional growth of 11 to 16-year-olds with SEMH needs, is expanding. Following a triumphant opening in September 2023, we're preparing for new arrivals in September 2024, necessitating a broader team to accommodate our enlarging student cohort"
Many of the pupils who will attend the school will have additional special educational needs, such as, autistic spectrum condition (ASC), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and speech and language communication difficulties. Pupils attending may have, at some point, not had success or positive experiences in their education elsewhere. As a result – along with other factors – pupils will more than likely be working at a lower-than-expected key stage relative to their age.
