Secondary Science Teacher – Tameside (Full-Time, September Start)

Location: Tameside
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Full-time, temporary (with potential for permanent placement)
Pay: £32,916–£51,047 per annum (MPS–UPS, depending on experience)

Teaching Personnel are working in close partnership with a well-respected secondary school in Tameside to appoint an engaging and enthusiastic Science teacher from September. The school is part of a forward-thinking multi-academy trust, with a strong focus on academic excellence, inclusive education, and professional development.

This opportunity is ideal for both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) who are passionate about delivering high-quality Science education and committed to supporting pupils of varying abilities.

The Role:

  • Deliver high-quality, differentiated Science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the ability to specialise in Biology, Chemistry or Physics

  • Support pupils in preparing for GCSE examinations and provide targeted intervention where necessary

  • Develop engaging resources and schemes of work in collaboration with the Science department

  • Contribute to the wider school community, including enrichment activities and curriculum development

Candidate Requirements:

  • QTS or QTLS status (ECTs will be fully supported through induction)

  • Recent experience teaching Science at secondary level

  • A secure understanding of the Science curriculum and exam specifications

  • A proactive and reflective practitioner, committed to ongoing CPD

  • Strong classroom management skills and high expectations of pupil behaviour and engagement

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
