Science teacher (Northampton)

Teaching Personnel are currently working collaboratively with a large secondary school in central Northamptonshire who are seeking a teacher of science to join them in the new academic year. The school are part of a successful academy trust and cater for a large portion of students in the local community. This summer saw the schools best GCSE results achieved in their history, resulting in a growing sixth form and an increase in the number of students going on to attend prestigious universities. Improvement of the school has been significant and consecutive; encouraging staff to believe this upward trend will continue. With an ethos centred on inspiring young people, the school aim to equip all students with qualifications and schools which will enable them to achieve their future goals. High quality teaching is paired with an extensive curriculum and extra-curricular activities which will aid their development into well rounded young people. The school have excellent facilities as well as a bright and inspiring learning environment where staff and students work collaboratively to ensure success is celebrated.

The role will include:

  • Teaching science to key stage 3 and 4 pupils on a full time basis
  • Planning and preparing diverse lessons which cater to a variety of learning styles
  • Monitoring results to ensure pupil progress is achieved
  • Working alongside the department to ensure that success is maintained
  • Promoting the ethos and vision of the academy

The ideal candidate will be:

  • Capable of managing the classroom effectively and ensuring standards of behaviour remain high
  • Able to engage with pupils and creative a sense of excitement about the subject
  • Equipped with excellent knowledge of science and the current curriculum
