  • Provide personal care where required, including feeding, toileting, hoisting, and mobility support, always ensuring dignity and comfort.
  • Use assistive technologies and specialist equipment (e.g., switches, sensory tools, hoists) to promote independence and access to learning.
  • Create a calm, nurturing environment by supporting emotional regulation, modelling positive behaviour, and using de-escalation techniques when needed.

Requirements

To be successful, you should have:

  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEND, complex needs, care, or SLD/PMLD/Autism (school, residential, or care settings welcome).
  • A kind, patient, and resilient approach, with the ability to build trusting relationships.
  • Confidence supporting pupils with personal care and mobility needs.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • A willingness to learn and adapt to a variety of specialist teaching approaches.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
